Sunshine State Conference Opener ended in a Thrilling Five Game Match; Tech Falling

Melbourne, Fla. (volleyball) – In the Panthers first Sunshine State Conference match against the Fighting Knights of Lynn University, the Panthers fell
short in five games 3-2 (L30-14, W3-28, L30-22, W30-24, L15-13).

As the SSC got underway the Panthers let the nerves get to them losing the first game to Lynn but gained momentum in the second tying the match at one game
apiece.

In the third and forth game each team rallied at the end to overcome their opponent with Lynn winning the third and Florida Tech winning the forth.

As the fifth and final game got underway, the Fighting Knights captured the early lead but the Panthers retaliated back to take the game down to the wire,
unfortunately for the Panthers the Fighting Knights came out on top winning the match.

On the attack for the Panthers, Frankie Brown (Panama City, FL) led the way with 13 kills and Jenny McCoy (Titusville, Fl) with 11. Megan Konopnicki
(Plano, TX) and Rachel Joakim (Centerville, MA) totaled 16 kills; 9 and 7 respectively with Amanda Boyce (Madison, WI) and Leigh Ann Brown (Winter Park,
FL) each recorded 5. Boyce also accumulated 41 assists on the match.

Defensively Melissa Reinders (Orlando, FL) and Katie Dobek (Sterling, MI) totaled 34 digs; Reinders with 18 and Dobek with 16. Frankie Brown (Panama City,
Fl) topped off with 10 digs giving three Panthers in double digits defensively.

The Panthers move to 2-10 overall and 0-1 in the SSC on the season and next will host the Buccaneers of Barry University Saturday, September 16th at 2 pm
in the Clemente Center.
