Melissa Reinders Named SSC Volleyball Player of the Week

ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida Tech starts the year with their first honor from the Sunshine State Conference. Freshman libero Melissa Reinders (Orlando, Fla.) enjoyed a strong week averaging 6.3
digs per game over five matches. Reinders tallied 17 digs in a thrilling five-game win over Flagler, before registering 7.3 digs per game in four matches
at the Armstrong Atlantic Invitational.

Reinders collected 42 digs in a five-game match against USC-Upstate and added 30 digs in a three-game match against UNC-Pembroke. She added 17 digs and 13
digs, respectively, against USC-Aiken and Francis Marion.

For her short collegiate career thus far, Reinders is averaging 5.56 digs per game at 200 for the season. She has also chipped in 10 service aces and 170
reception attempts with a .859 reception percentage.

The freshman libero is a product of Winter Park High School and is majoring in Business at Florida Tech. Reinders, whose sister is Christina Reinders a
junior middle blocker at Rollins, is the first in her family to win the SSC Player of the Week honors.
