Florida Tech Autism-Related Workshop Sept. 26 Reviews Early Signs, Behavioral Approaches

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Florida Institute of Technology’s School of Psychology offers free monthly workshops of particular interest to parents, educators and professionals who deal with the issues of autism.

The Sept. 26 workshop will be “Navigating ASD: From Behavior Plan to Individualized Education Program,” 6-7:30 p.m. in the Scott Center Autism Treatment Seminar Room. Jamie Barr, program director, Space Coast Early Intervention, will present.

This session, to be directed at parents, will review the early signs of autism; behavioral approaches for socialization and skill acquisition; and how to approach the individual education process.

The Seminar Room is located on the second floor of the Scott Center for Autism Treatment at the south end of the Florida Tech campus.
