Florida Tech Hosting ‘State of the Schools’ Event Aug. 8

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Tech is honored to host the third annual State of the Schools event on Thursday, Aug. 8.

The Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce event is presented by Community Credit Union.

With the theme “Preparing Students for Tomorrow’s Complex Challenges,” this informative and engaging event will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Hartley Room on the second floor of the Denius Student Center, 144 Florida Tech Drive on the university’s Melbourne campus. It will include lunch.

Parking is on Lot 10 at 2853 County Club Road.

Registration is required. The cost is $25 per person for chamber members and $35 per person for non-members.

The event will open with a welcome from Florida Tech President John Nicklow and then feature the State of the Schools address by Brevard Public Schools Superintendent Mark Rendell. A panel discussion will follow on the latest developments, challenges and innovations in our schools.

Panel participants are John Z. Kiss, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Florida Tech; Laura Sidoran, associate vice president of student affairs at Eastern Florida State College; and Ryan Goodwin, assistant vice president for strategy and innovation, University of Central Florida.

A networking lunch will be provided, allowing guests to engage with fellow attendees, educators and vendors.
