RUR Subject Rankings List
Has University First in Florida
MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Tech was the highest ranked Florida university and among just 127 North American institutions featured in the Round University Ranking Natural Sciences World University Ranking released recently.
Round University Ranking (RUR) Subject Rankings evaluate the performance of 761 of the world’s leading higher education institutions in natural sciences and other individual subject areas, including humanities, nedical sciences and social sciences. The universities are assessed by the same 20 indicators and four key areas of university activities – teaching, research, international diversity and financial sustainability – as RUR’s more comprehensive World University Ranking.
The just-released Natural Sciences ranking looked at programs that include physics, mathematics and chemistry. Florida Tech was in the Golden League ranking, one of just two Florida schools in that upper echelon segment. Florida Tech also was one of just six Florida universities included in the RUR Technical Sciences ranking released earlier this year.
In April, Florida Tech joined Harvard, Imperial College in London, Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne in Switzerland and other leading institutions on the 2018 RUR World University Ranking. Florida Tech was one of just 135 U.S.-based universities on the list, which involved 783 universities overall from 74 countries.
The rankings are published by RUR Rankings Agency based in Moscow, Russia. They use data from Clarivate Analytics.
