RUR Subject Ranking Has
University in ‘Golden League’
MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Tech was among the top North American and Florida-based universities in the social sciences, according to a new survey from the Round University Ranking Agency.
Round University Ranking (RUR) Subject Rankings evaluate the performance of 761 of the world’s leading higher education institutions in social sciences and other individual areas, including natural sciences, humanities and medical sciences. The universities are assessed by the same 20 indicators and four key areas of university activities – teaching, research, international diversity and financial sustainability – as RUR’s more comprehensive World University Rankings.
The just-released social sciences ranking looked at programs in the areas of humanities and social studies, such as law, social work, linguistics and international relations. Florida Tech was in the Golden League category, one of just three Florida schools in that upper echelon segment and one of just 130 North American universities included on the rankings overall.
Florida Tech also was one of just six Florida universities included in the RUR Humanities ranking, announced along with the social sciences list.
In November, Florida Tech was named the highest ranked university in Florida in the RUR natural sciences ranking. And in April, Florida Tech joined Harvard, Imperial College in London, Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne in Switzerland and other leading institutions on the 2018 RUR World University Ranking. Florida Tech was one of just 135 U.S.-based universities on that list, which included 783 universities from 74 countries.
The rankings are published by RUR Rankings Agency based in Moscow, Russia, using data from Clarivate Analytics.
