Florida Tech, Southern Maryland Higher Education Center Partner to Offer M.S. in Project Management

MELBOURNE, FLA. — The Extended Studies Department of Florida Institute of Technology’s Nathan M. Bisk College of Business is pleased to announce it now offers a Master of Science in Project Management at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center (SMHEC) in California, Md.

“Florida Tech understands the education and skills that students of all ages need to compete for the best jobs of the 21st century, and this new offering means more choices and opportunities at the Southern Maryland center,” said Ted Richardson, senior associate dean of extended studies at Florida Tech’s Nathan M. Bisk College of Business.

The new master’s degree offers specialized areas of concentrations in Information Systems and Operations Research.

“We are very pleased that the Florida Tech M.S. in Project Management with concentration options in Information Systems and Operations Research will be offered at SMHEC,” said Cynthia Shoemaker, SMHEC’s chief academic officer. “The Higher Education Center serves more than 3,000 engineers in the southern Maryland area, which includes more than 200 technical corporations, so we are always seeking to meet workforce needs. Almost 2,000 students have graduated with degrees from SMHEC, with almost 90 percent of these at the graduate level. “
