Florida Tech Classes Teach What Social Media Can Do for Your Business

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Institute of Technology’s Women’s Business Center will present two classes that help businesspeople make the most of the new social
media. They are “Marketing with the Social Media” on April 20, from 6 to 8 p.m., and “Getting Connected with Social Media” on April 27, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Each class costs $25 and will be held in the Link Building, Room 323, on campus.

Social networking presents a technological opportunity that may be the biggest since e-mail. The sites have simplified and amplified connections between
people, creating a thriving online community that let friends interact through common interest groups, games, greetings, video clips and more. Social
networks are the latest iteration of the Web economy. Unlike e-commerce sites and search engines, however, they offer a more intimate setting for friends
and professionals to connect and share information.

“Marketing with Social Media” will teach how to promote your Web site or business through social media channels such as LinkedIn, FaceBook, YouTube, and
MeetUp.

“Getting Connected with Social Media” will demonstrate the benefits of social networking, what precautions you need to take and the “how” to enable you to
get started today.

The instructor for both classes is Tom Fulmer. He is a certified human behavior consultant and the founder of Success Essentials, a company dedicated to
helping businesses and people better manage their time, increase sales, and create stronger relationships with staff and clients. Fulmer has trained people
from companies across the country such as Google, Morgan Stanley, Smith Barney and Kennedy Space Center.

He has more than 15 years experience as an entrepreneur, trainer and consultant. Register at http://wbc.fit.edu/schedule. For more information, call (321)
