Foosaner Art Museum Shifts to Free Admission

Florida Tech Facility Joins Textile Center in Offering No-Charge Access

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Institute of Technology’s Foosaner Art Museum has made every day a free day.

Beginning in March, the county’s leading fine arts museum will eliminate admission costs – a benefit that had been in place only on Thursdays until now.

“I’m very excited to be able to offer free admission at both the Foosaner and the Funk Center for Textile Arts,” said Carla Funk, Florida Tech’s director of university museums. “Free admission is the best way to make our great exhibitions accessible to all.”

The hours at the Foosaner, 1463 Highland Ave. in the Eau Gallie Arts District of Melbourne, are changing, as well.

Starting the week of March 1, the museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. The museum will continue to stay open late on the first Friday of each month as part of its Jazz Friday series, where concerts are held from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

The change in hours came about after studying visitor attendance patterns, Funk said.
