WFIT Receives $1,000 Grant from Community Foundation of Brevard

MELBOURNE, FLA. —WFIT 89.5 FM, a non-profit service of Florida Institute of Technology and National Public Radio (NPR) affiliate, received $1,000 from the Community Foundation of Brevard (CFB).

The award funds a computer workstation for the WFIT Web site. WFIT will soon enhance its Web site to better serve its listeners. Web site visitors will be able to obtain instant information about their favorite music, search playlists, and easily access NPR news, and artistic and cultural events.

The CFB trust fund is supported through donations by individuals, organizations and businesses. Similar to a savings account, most funds are permanent gifts. These funds are combined for investment purposes and are used to support diverse charitable goals. The CFB awards grants to not-for-profit charitable organizations.

WFIT is located on the campus of Florida Tech in Melbourne. To discuss planning a gift to WFIT, please call or e-mail Barbara Bingnear, membership director, or Terri Wright, general manager, at (321) 674-8140.
