New Sports Information Director Comes from Tallahassee

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Institute of Technology announces the appointment of Rebecca Vick as sports information director. Most recently she was a
communications specialist at Tallahassee Community College where she also assisted with athletics events and planned other college activities. Prior to her
position in Tallahassee, Vick was assistant sports information director at Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., and director of media relations for
athletics at Western Carolina University in North Carolina.

“Florida Tech’s athletics programs are growing and have tremendous support from both administration and the community, which is what primarily drew me to
this school, said Vick. “I hope that my background in sports information and communications will serve my department well. I’m very excited to become a
Panther.”

Vick earned a master’s degree in education with a specialty in sports administration from Florida State University in Tallahassee. Her bachelor’s degree,
from Florida State was in communication.

At Florida Tech, she will be responsible for the development and dissemination of athletics news and information and serve as the primary media contact for
athletics. This includes preparing content for all athletics publications and the athletics Web site. With the support of two assistants, Vick’s office
will promote athletics events internally, locally and throughout the state and the nation.

Florida Tech competes in the Sunshine State Conference. Athletes participate in 15 intercollegiate sports: women’s sports include basketball, cross
country, golf, rowing, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball; men’s sports include baseball, basketball, crew, cross country, golf, soccer and tennis,
along with co-ed cheerleading.
