Panthers Torpedo the Bucs

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (Men’s Soccer) – The Florida Tech Panthers push their record to 3-8-2 and 2-4-1 in the Sunshine State Conference after
a dominating 3-0 win over the Barry University Buccaneers in Miami Shores, Fla. on Tuesday night.   The match was even all night but the Panthers hit
a flurry of scoring in a six-minute stretch that started in the 64th minute of the match.   Sophomore forward Edward Oyarce received a nice
through ball from sophomore forward Nicolás Garcia on which Oyarce
was able to capitalize. He put it past the goalkeeper for the first goal of the match.   Less than four minutes later, halfway through the 68th minute
freshman forward Stephane
Leys
was able to capitalize on a missed clear by the Bucs. He scored an unassisted goal to push the lead to two.   Oyarce wasn’t finished
yet. He received a throw in from freshman defender Caleib Lynch at the beginning of
the 70th minute. Oyarce knocked it in from 25 yards out for his third goal on the season.   The Panthers went to MiamiShores determined to get a win
and they came through. They were more efficient than the Bucs, scoring three goals on only nine shots, five on goal. The Bucs couldn’t score on 14 shots
and were only able to place four on goal.   Florida Tech will see its next action in an alumni match at 4 p.m. in Melbourne, Fla. on Saturday. The
Panthers play a conference match against NovaSoutheasternUniversity at 4 p.m. on October 23, in Melbourne, Fla.   BOX SCORE
