U.S. News Ranks Florida Tech Among Nations Elite

MELBOURNE, FLA.—For nearly 20 consecutive years, U.S. News and World Report has ranked Florida Institute of Technology among the nation’s best national
doctoral universities.

The 50-year-old Melbourne-based Florida Tech is classified by the Carnegie Foundation as a Doctoral Research Intensive university, which separates
it from institutions that only offer degrees at the bachelor’s or master’s level.

Florida Tech’s freshman classes continue to be academically strong, with 23 percent of incoming freshmen in the top 10 percent of their high school
graduating class. The guide noted favorably that 53 percent of all classes include 20 or fewer students. Additionally, alumni giving at 21 percent, has
come a long way since the eight percent recorded for 2001.

Florida Tech President Anthony James Catanese said the university will continue to emphasize these strengths.

“We are very pleased to, once again, be numbered among the nation’s best universities,” he said. “We believe this recognition to be a testament to the
dedication of our faculty and staff, our programs and continuing efforts to provide the best possible learning and living environments. We are sincerely
interested in the success of each student who attends Florida Tech.”

In recent months, Florida Tech has been named a Military Friendly School, a “Best in the Southeast” institution by Princeton Review and among America’s top
15 percent of colleges and universities by Forbes. Florida Tech’s new academic year began on Aug. 17.
