MELBOURNE, FLA—The Marian Jackson Foundation has made a grant of $10,000 to the Florida Institute of Technology for scholarship assistance with a focus on graduates of Melbourne High School who are juniors or seniors at Florida Tech.
The Marian Jackson Charitable Trust was established in 2000 to honor the memory of Marian Jackson and continue her work to assist the young people of Brevard County in achieving a college education.
Trustee Hugh Normile, Jr. says that the late Marian Jackson “had a sincere desire to help young people achieve their academic goals.”
He added that Florida Tech is a perfect match with Mrs. Jackson’s charitable interests because the scholarships will be helping good students who demonstrate financial need. “They don’t have to be at the top of the class, which is where a lot of scholarship assistance is directed,” said Normile. “They just have to be solid students who understand the value of a first-rate education, as you receive at Florida Tech.”
