STEMpower Day Nov. 8 at Florida Tech Offers Powerful Experiences for High School Students
Free Event Features Interactive Sessions on Space, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Sharks, Digital Design and More
MELBOURNE, FLA. — High school students, high-school-level home-schooled students and parents, guardians, teachers and/or guidance counselors are invited to Florida Tech’s STEMpower Day Nov. 8, a free celebration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics that offers participants memorable, hands-on experiences and a taste of the collegiate life at Florida Tech.
The event is held from 2:30-6 p.m. at Florida Tech’s Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Innovative Design, 2495 Palm Bay Rd NE in Palm Bay.
STEMpower Day is open to students from public, private and home-based high schools in Brevard County. Everyone attending the event must register. Each student who registers will get to choose three specific sessions to attend. Each session will have just 10 seats, so pre-registering soon will ensure a better selection.
Among the 20 interactive sessions are:
- From Cockroaches to Monkeys: Inside the Minds of Animals
- The James Webb Space Telescope: A Tour de Force of Space Science
- King of the Packet: Cyber-attacking Remote-controlled Cars
- SHARKS! Research, Conservation, and Why You Should Care
- Digital Design: Jet Dragster Edition
“Participants get the unique opportunity to meet Florida Tech’s stellar faculty, get a taste of the college experience, and experience the excitement of STEM,” said STEM Outreach Manager Jared Campbell. “Plus, our grand finale is guaranteed to fire you up!”
