Florida Tech Federal Grant Serves Psychology Doctoral Students

– Dr. Philip D. Farber, Florida Tech professor in the School of Psychology, has earned a $86,400 federal
grant. The grant is from the Bureau of Health Professions, Department of Health and Human Services.

The funding will help prepare Florida Tech doctoral students for integrated health service work with underserved populations such as children and
adolescents, the elderly, dually-diagnosed patients, the severely mentally ill, rural populations, ethnic and racial minorities, and the socio-economically
disadvantaged.

The grant also will enhance existing doctoral curriculum by emphasizing the role of the psychologist as a member of an integrated health services team.

Florida Tech offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in psychology. The university’s doctor of psychology program in clinical psychology is fully
accredited by the American Psychological Association.
