Nine ROTC Cadets to be Commissioned May 4

Nine U.S. Army cadets will receive commissions as second lieutenants at Florida Tech May 4 and will receive their bachelor’s degrees at commencement that day.

They are Sarah Duncan of Melbourne, forensic psychology major, Field Artillery/Signal Corps, active duty; John Fred of Palm Bay, interdisciplinary science major, Transportation, U.S. Army Reserve; Clifford Freeman of Sharpes, forensic psychology major, Military Intelligence, U.S. Army Reserve; Daniel Evans of Neptune, Fla., aviation management major, Military Intelligence, U.S. Army Reserve; Adam Melendez of Cape Coral, Fla., forensic psychology major, Quartermaster, active duty; Jonathan Santella of Woolbridge, Va., aeronautical science major with flight, Military Intelligence, U.S. Army Reserve; Lacey Sovern of Cape Coral, Fla., aviation management major, Aviation, active duty; Sarah Steele of Kohler, Wis., aeronautical science major with flight, Quartermaster, active duty; and Craig Svec of Fort Myers, Fla., business administration major, Aviation, active duty. Sovern received the George C. Marshall Award, a national award and the highest award for an ROTC cadet.
