Transitioning Aerospace Workers in Florida Tech Training Program to Make Public Business Presentations

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Six participants in a business training program offered through Florida Institute of Technology and Brevard Workforce will present their start-up business ideas on Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. at the American Police Hall of Fame in Titusville. The participants are space program workers transitioning to new careers due to the Space Shuttle retirement.

The public is invited to hear their ideas as they present them to a business review panel, facilitated by Richard Fox of the Astralis Group, LLC. The panel will consist of area business leaders. The new business start-up ideas will include consulting, manufacturing, tourism and retail.

The presenters are among those transitioning workers who took advantage of “real world” business seminars and business mentoring services offered through the free Entrepreneurial Training Services Program, conducted by Florida Tech and held at Kennedy Space Center. These presenters are among several eligible program applicants whose business ideas and business plans are being evaluated to determine the most promising new business opportunity. The program participant selected for proposing the most promising new business idea will receive a full-tuition scholarship for the Florida Tech Online MBA Program.
