Fourteen Schools to Join in High School Business Ethics Competition

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Fourteen area high schools have committed to participate in the Florida Tech College of Business eleventh annual High School Business
Ethics Competition on Friday, March 9, 2007. Community Educators Credit Union is the primary sponsor
High school juniors and seniors from Brevard County and other Central Florida high schools compete in the day-long event by developing solutions to thorny
ethical problems.
A competition with awards for the top three teams, the real focus of the day is to stimulate these young minds with a valuable learning exercise.
Judges for the competition come from a variety of career fields and include many prominent members of the community.
Florida Tech will guarantee a minimum College of Business scholarship of $8,000 per year for each member of the first-place team, and $6,000 for
second-place team members.
The event also offers $500 per member to the first-place team, $250 per member to the second-place team and $125 per member to the third place team. In
addition to student prizes, thanks to the Gannett Foundation, coaches of the presenting teams will be awarded $100 per team each to be used in purchasing
classroom supplies.
