NOAA Scientist Presents Next InSTEP Lecture on Hurricanes, Sharks and Living Undersea

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Ellen Prager, chief scientist, Aquarius Reef Base, NOAA’s Undersea Research Center at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, will
present “Chasing Science at Sea: Racing Hurricanes, Stalking Sharks and Living Undersea with Ocean Experts” on April 16 at 7 p.m. The lecture will be in
the Eau Gallie High School auditorium. Part of Florida Tech’s Integrated Science Teaching Enhancement Partnership (InSTEP) program, the talk is free and
open to the public.

InSTEP is funded by two grants totaling $3.4 million to Florida Tech from the National Science Foundation. The program enables university graduate students
and faculty to work with high school science teachers in Brevard County public schools to develop inquiry-based learning lesson plans.
