Singer Judy Collins to Co-Host FM Odyssey on WFIT Sept. 6

Famed Entertainer Joins Fred Migliore for Special Broadcast

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Judy Collins will join host Fred Migliore for a special edition of his syndicated weekly radio program FM Odyssey Radio from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday on Florida Tech’s WFIT 89.5 FM.

The show, which Migliore launched at WFIT 29 years ago, will feature songs and artists that inspired Collins, stories from her nearly 60-year career, and plenty of music from the Collins catalog.

“We will create a music journey,” Migliore said.

In addition to the WFIT airing, the program will be available online at www.wfit.org and www.fmodyssey.com, on TuneIn.com and on affiliate radio stations nationwide through Sept. 12.

An eclectic and inspired artist since the early 1960s, Collins’ rendition of the Stephen Sondheim classic “Send in the Clowns” won Song of the Year at the 1975 Grammy Awards. Her version of Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2003.

“I know that artists are mostly idling during this pandemic, not being able to utilize their gift of music,” Migliore said. “I felt the need to use the platform that I’ve been gifted with to raise their spirits and bring this musical gift to my audience.”

FM Odyssey began, along with Migliore’s radio career, in 1991. It was originally called “Another Unconventional Sunday Morning,” when he started it that year at WFIT. The three-hour show blends esoteric folk/rock and “everything in between,” with new and emerging singer/songwriters.
