Three to be Commissioned at Florida Tech Dec. 12

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Three U.S. Army cadets will receive commissions as second lieutenants at Florida Institute of Technology Dec. 12 and will receive their bachelor’s degrees at commencement that day.

They are Joseph A. Dixon, entering the Corps of Engineers Branch and receiving a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering; Christopher L. Foust, entering the Field Artillery Branch and receiving a bachelor’s degree in business administration; and Sebastian A. Mierzwa, entering the Military Intelligence Branch and earning a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

At 2 p.m. on graduation day the cadets will participate in a commissioning ceremony on campus in the Hartley Room of the Denius Student Center. The guest speaker will be Florida Tech Assistant Professor of Military Science and Executive Officer Capt. Mathew Elliott. He returned in October from deployment in Afghanistan.
