Florida Tech and the Office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance are pleased to announce that Mandeep Mishra will start as internal auditor for the university on Feb. 24. His office will be in the Miller Building 401QAD/137 and his email will be mmishra@fit.edu.
Mishra has higher education work experience from serving as internal auditor at North Dakota University Systems. He has also held various auditor positions with Lowe’s, Amwins Group, Inc., North Dakota Workforce Safety and Insurance and the North Dakota Department of Human Services.
He holds a Master of Accountancy from Western Illinois University and is an accomplished leader with over 15 years of experience in driving risk-based internal audit strategies and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
At Florida Tech, the internal auditor serves as an independent and objective party designing and conducting regular audits to ensure the university’s internal controls systems and governance are effective in mitigating risk. This person helps evaluate and improve effectiveness of the enterprise risk management framework, internal controls, policies and governance processes, working collaboratively with other campus offices that oversee risk and compliance, accreditation, finance, systems and legal affairs.
Mishra has a proven track record of establishing and leading audit departments and spearheading the creation of a quality audit department, along with expertise in leading cross-functional teams and utilizing data analytics for informed decision-making and delivery of impactful audit reports. He is collaborative, adaptable and adept at addressing emerging risks.
