U.S. Congressman Posey Hosts Free Federal Grant Conference at Florida Tech Sept. 19

MELBOURNE, FLA.—U.S. Congressman Bill Posey is inviting representatives of non-profit and faith-based organizations to attend a Federal Grant Conference on Sept. 19, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., at Florida Institute of Technology. There is no cost, but space is limited and early registration is encouraged.

The conference will provide information on grant opportunities, resources and management of particular interest to those who deliver services to disadvantaged citizens.

“This is a great opportunity for community, non-profit and faith-based agencies to learn how to identify federal grant opportunities and to get tips on how to strengthen their organizations,” said Congressman Posey.

The conference will include a panel presentation by Mary Ann Feldheim, director of the Nonprofit Management Program at the University of Central Florida (UCF), and Claire Knox of the Public Administration Department, also at UCF. She is principal investigator on the Nonprofit Capacity Building Initiative, funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service.

Also involved in the conference are the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; U.S. House and Urban Development; U.S. Department of Agriculture, Florida Department of Juvenile Justice; and the Women’s Business Center at Florida Tech.

“We thank Congressman Posey for offering on our campus this valuable opportunity for non-profits,” said President Anthony J. Catanese.

The event will take place in the Hartley Room on the second floor of the Denius Student Center in the heart of the campus, off Country Club Road. Registration will be from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and will include a continental breakfast.
