Boeing Contributes $10,000 to Florida Tech Scholarships

– The Boeing Company has presented a $10,000 check to Florida Tech Dean of the College of Engineering, Thomas D. Waite
and Florida Tech Boeing Focus School representative, Dr. Fredric Ham. The funds will support scholarships for undergraduate engineering students.

Dr. Waite said this generous gift is one of many contributions awarded over the years by the Boeing Company. He said, “We are fortunate to be a recipient
of Boeing’s corporate outreach to higher education and value our relationship with the company.”

Tim LaMunyon, director, finance, Florida Operations, Boeing Integrated Defense Systems, presented the check and pointed to a strong partnership between
Boeing and the university. “We have always focused on rewarding excellence in higher education,” he said. “In fact, many of the top students of today will
become the Boeing employees of tomorrow.”

Boeing has designated Florida Tech as one of its “Focus Schools.” These are colleges or universities singled out by the company for financial support and
other forms of partnership and collaboration. For example, Boeing has, for 10 years, financially supported the effort of Florida Tech’s College of
Aeronautics to assist in the advancement of civil aviation training in China.

Florida Tech is ranked by the Carnegie Foundation as a Doctoral Research Intensive Institution and has been named as one of America’s best colleges by U.S.
News & World Report for 15 consecutive years.
