Meet Krystal: Biomedical Engineering, M.S.

Hello, my name is Krystal Kerney!

I am a second year biomedical engineering graduate student at Florida Tech and this is my first blog post ever! Classes just started on campus and FIT is as busy as a beehive.  I’m only taking one class this semester, Pharmacology and Drug Development taught by Dr. Julia Grimwade, but so far it is proving to be very interesting!

In this blog, I hope to share my experiences throughout the semester while learning about what makes quality drugs work effectively and working a full-time position in guest services at a company called Ideal Image.  I am also hoping to put together the beginnings of a thesis project this year with one of our new faculty members about tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.  In addition, I have plans to attend, and maybe photograph, some of FIT’s football games (GO PANTHERS!) to support my little sister, one of FIT’s newest cheerleaders.  Please join me on my journey as I get one step closer to becoming a cutting-edge research scientist in the world of biomedical engineering thanks to FIT!
