Florida Tech Athletics to Celebrate 14th Annual Sporting Affair

Florida Tech Department of Athletics is hosting its 14th Annual Sporting Affair to benefit men and women’s athletic programs. This annual event helps to
provide needed scholarship funds for Panther student-athletes. This year the Scholar Athlete Open Golf Tournament, the “Chopper Dropper”, and the Sporting
Affair will take place on Friday, March 24, 2006.

The day will kick-off with The Panther Invitational Golf Tournament at Suntree Country Club. Golf will begin approximately at 1:00 p.m. with a shotgun
start. Tickets for this portion of the event are $150. This year, the winning foursome will be awarded an engraved Waterford Crystal trophy that will be
displayed in the Charles and Ruth Clemente Center for Sports and Recreation. This presentation will take place at the Cocktail Reception and Auction.

The 3rd Annual Chopper Dropper will directly follow the golf tournament at the Suntree Country Club. Chopper Dropper is unique fundraiser that involves
1,000 golf balls, a helicopter and a cocktail party. Participants may sponsor a golf ball for $50. Each sponsorship earns the participant an opportunity to
win $25,000.

On the day of the drop, all 1,000 golf balls will be loaded into a Brevard County Sheriff’s helicopter and released over a designated area at the Suntree
Country Club driving range. When the turf settles, the ball closest to the pin wins the prize for its sponsor.

“We hope that all friends and supporters of Florida Tech athletics can join us for these two wonderful events,” said Athletics Director Bill Jurgens. “When
combined with our evening cocktail reception and auction, the Sporting Affair will once again be a memorable day for all involved.”
