Faculty Member Publishes about Space, Wins Honor

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Joseph Angelo, an adjunct faculty member of Florida Tech’s Department of Marine and Environmental Systems, will publish the sixth book in
his Frontiers in Space set in September. The book, Life in the Universe, completes the series geared for 9th through 12th grade students. The books are
published by Facts on File.

Angelo, who has taught nuclear radiation protection courses at Florida Tech since the early 1980s, also recently won an award for another publication. His
Encyclopedia of Space & Astronomy earned an “Honor Book 2006” award from the Society of School Librarians International.

Among other books written by the prolific author are Nuclear Technology and Space Technology, both published in another series, Sourcebooks in Modern
Technology. Nuclear Technology earned an Outstanding Academic Titles 2005 awards.

“Many of my publishing efforts have their intellectual roots in courses taught at Florida Tech,” said Angelo. All of his books are available through
