Florida Tech Information Assurance Meeting: “Healthcare Information and Security,” Sept. 15

MELBOURNE, FLA.—The Harris Institute for Assured Information at Florida Institute of Technology and the Space Coast Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) present a monthly lecture series on security trends and topics. This month’s meeting, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled for Sept. 15, at 6:30 p.m. in the third-floor conference room of the Harris Center for Science and Engineering building on the Florida Tech campus.

In this meeting the institute will host Steve Shin, who will present “Healthcare Information and Security.” Healthcare information is shared and distributed with a number of entities, from the corner drugstore to the hospitals to the insurance providers. This presentation discusses how “Internetworking” impacts information privacy and the regulatory environment that governs information disclosure.

Shin is an advanced programs manager at Harris Corp. in the Healthcare Solutions Group.
