Florida Tech “Students in Free Enterprise” Team Finishes 2nd in Orlando

– The Florida Tech Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team took a second place finish in the SIFE 2005 Orlando Regional Competition, on April 7. The team
participated with SIFE teams from colleges and universities from all over Florida.

The teams presented their annual reports, which outlined the programs, activities and accomplishments throughout the year. “Our team has accomplished more
in three months than what many SIFE teams accomplish in a year,” said Dr. Carmo D’Cruz, Sam Walton Free Enterprise Fellow at Florida Tech and the SIFE team
advisor.

Florida Tech SIFE team members, who participatead in the competition were: Penny Herrera, president; Asha Karolyn Beera, vice president; Jose Recio,
director of programs; Kurt Leyba, director of communications; Shigeo Azuma, director of outreach; Deepthi Mangamuri, treasurer; and Thaddeus Misilo. He is
developer of the product, Health-A-Ware, a blood pressure/biomedical device.
