Eleven Army Cadets to be Commissioned at Florida Tech May 7, Including Five Brevard Residents

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Eleven Florida Institute of Technology R.O.T.C. cadets will graduate with their bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Florida Tech’s Spring Commencement May 7. They will receive their commissions as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army at a ceremony later in the day. They are:

· Taylor S. Boyd, of Centerville, Va., construction management major, Combat Engineer Branch

· Beth M. Brooks, of Glade Hill, Va., interdisciplinary science major, Quartermaster Branch

· Qiguang Chen, of Palm Bay, Fla., psychology major, Military Intelligence Branch

· Lonita M. Collins, of Cocoa, Fla., aviation management major, Military Police Branch

· William G. Crish, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., interdisciplinary science major, Ordnance Branch

· Tiffany A. Hitchcock, of Merritt Island, Fla., forensic psychology major, Quartermaster Branch

· Richard J. Knight, of Melbourne, Fla., interdisciplinary science major, Military Police Branch

· Sean M. Laughlin, of Vero Beach, Fla., master of science, aviation safety major, Aviation Branch

· Megan L. Manly, of Centerville, Fla., interdisciplinary science major, Military Intelligence Branch

· David A. Minnick, of Melbourne, Fla., master of business administration, Medical Service Branch

· Tyler B. Smith, of Bell, Fla., business administration major, Medical Service Branch

Following graduation the morning of May 7, the 11 cadets will participate in a commissioning ceremony at 2 p.m. on campus in the Hartley Room of the Denius Student Center.
