Harris Institute Presents First Major Forum-on Cyberspace Safety Feb. 22

MELBOURNE, FLA.—To help protect vital computer and mobile information tool data, the Harris Institute for Information Assurance at Florida Institute of Technology will present its first major forum since its October 2009 dedication. The Cyberspace Safety Forum, hosted by Congressman Bill Posey, is set for Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the university’s Olin Engineering Building Auditorium, Room 118.

The free forum, which is open to the public, provides information on protecting computer data, helping children use computers safely and how to maintain safe mobile online communication practices.

A panel of high-level presenters will provide tips and information. Panelists include Richard Ford, director of the Harris Institute and Florida Tech Professor of computer science; representatives from the Federal Trade Commission, Florida Attorney General’s Office, the Brevard County Sheriff’s office; and other Florida Tech faculty members.
