Florida Tech Remains Perfect in Conference Play with 80-68 Win Over Lynn

MELBOURNE, Fla.  (women’s basketball)– The Florida Tech women’s basketball team remained unbeaten in Sunshine State Conference play this season, with
an impressive 80-68 victory over Lynn University this evening at the Clemente Center.

Senior Danielle Vaughn (Tallahassee, Fla.) posted her first Florida Tech career double-double with a game-high as well as season high 25 points and a
game-best 11 rebounds. The win marked the third straight victory for Florida Tech (10-2 overall, 2-0 SSC), which won for the ninth time in the last 10
games. Lynn (9-2 overall, 1-1 SSC) saw its six-game winning streak come to an end.

Senior Jennifer Tamilio (Boston, Mass.) and junior Tenisha Chase (Upper Marlboro, Md.) also scored in double figures for the Panthers, collecting 15 points
and 12 points, respectively. Chase notched her season high drawing six fouls to make it to the charity stripe finishing 8-for-11 for free throws. Her
career high is 19 points which she tallied against Tampa on February 22 of 2006.

Junior Kristin Heminger (Merritt Island, Fla.), the reigning SSC Player of the Week, snapped a 20-20 tie with 8:47 to play in the first half, giving
Florida Tech a lead it would not relinquish. The Panthers closed out the opening period with a 22-10 run to take a 42-30 lead into the break. Heminger
would finish the game with nine points and eight rebounds.

In the second half, Lynn cut the Florida Tech to three points, 54-51 with 10:27 to play, but could get no closer. The Panthers would eventually pull ahead
by 14 points, 67-53, with 7:07 left on the clock before closing out the 12-point win.

Florida Tech narrowly outshot Lynn from the field, 36.8% to 35.7%, but claimed a 33-24 edge in free throws in the contest, in which the teams were whistled
for a combined 56 fouls. The Panthers also claimed a slight edge in rebounding, 40-39.

Sophomore Jade Williams (Orlando, Fla.) led Lynn with 18 points.
