WFIT 89.5 FM Presents Free Concert at the Panthereum on Campus, Oct. 20

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Florida Institute of Technology’s WFIT 89.5 FM, a National Public Radio (NPR) station, and the city of Melbourne join to present free concerts at the Panthereum. The next concert is Sunday, Oct. 20, from 3 to 6 p.m. The outdoor Panthereum is located by the Denius Student Center, off Country Club Drive.

The concert will feature The Usual Suspects. Members include Rick Fincke, guitars and vocals; JT Burley, bass and vocals; and George Wilson, drums. There is nothing “usual” about “The Usual Suspects.”

Fincke is one of Central Florida’s best kept secrets. A no-nonsense guitar player, Fincke takes no prisoners when he carves his six-string path through the audience. His versatility allows him to play virtually any style, running the gamut from the jump and swing blues of the 40s and 50s to modern blues styles from Texas to Chicago and all points in between.

It’s said that noted bassist Burley blends so well with Fincke that you wouldn’t know he’s there unless he were to stop playing.

Wilson relocated to Central Florida from Connecticut where he gained extensive playing experience from rock to jazz. Locally, he has played with most groups in the area. These include Signals, The Farside Band, Smith & Western, The Puzzlers, Killer Dudes, Michelle Allen & Cool Like That, The Groove Monsters, Swing This, Mint Condition, One of a Kind Ron Jon Band, Lil’ Red & the Boogie Men, Rory Pastorius and Michael Leasure.
