Scott Center to Hold Open House Aug. 20

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Florida Institute of Technology’s Scott Center for Autism Treatment (http://research.fit.edu/scottcenter) will hold an Open House Saturday, Aug. 20, from 10 a.m. to noon. Staff will provide information about the services of the center and refreshments. For the children, there will be a bounce house and Very Special Arts (VSA) Brevard members, on hand to direct art projects.

The VSA is the local affiliate of an international organization that creates learning opportunities through the arts for people with disabilities. The organization offers arts-based programs for special needs children and adults in Brevard County.

The Scott Center also presents a Behavior Basics Boot Camp, “Making Your Classroom More Manageable,” for teachers. It will be held July 29, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with lunch included; an additional session, 3-5 p.m., is for hands-on classroom planning. The cost is $50.
