Student Earns Marine Technology Society Scholarship

Stephanie Groleau, a junior and ocean engineering major at Florida Institute of Technology, has
earned the 2006 Charles Bussmann Undergraduate Scholarship. The award, from the Marine Technology Society, is for $2,500.

A resident of Aurora, Ill., Groleau is involved in several campus organizations and has received numerous other awards. She is vice president of the campus
chapter of the Marine Technology Society, treasurer of the sailing club and corresponding secretary of the Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society. She has
also earned a Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) scholarship; Robert C. Byrd Scholarship for her placement in the top five percent of
Illinois high school students; and Florida Tech Trustee scholarships.

Phi Sigma Sigma and the National Panhellenic Council have also awarded her scholarships. Groleau was named a 2006 Outstanding Student in Ocean Engineering
and a Distinguished Student Sophomore Scholar.

Recipients of the Charles H. Bussmann Undergraduate Scholarship must be enrolled full time in a marine-related field.
