Titusville Resident Awarded Snowdon Fellowship at Florida Tech

– Nancy J.B. Sloan of Titusville, has been awarded a $5,000 Snowdon Fellowship for the 2005-2006 academic year. Sloan is pursuing a doctoral degree in
environmental science at Florida Institute of Technology. She earned a master’s degree in biological oceanography from the university in 2005.

The Snowdon Fellowships are funded by a gift of the Edward W. Snowdon and Lee Hill Snowdon Administrative Fund, and the Community Foundation for Palm Beach
and Martin Counties; they are matched by the F.W. Olin Foundation of New York.
The fellowships, arranged by Erik Edward Joh, Esq., are offered to deserving graduate students in the Department
of Marine and Environmental Systems
, in perpetuity.

Florida Tech’s ocean engineering program is part of the Department of Marine and Environmental Systems. The
department offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in oceanography, environmental science, ocean engineering and meteorology.
