Winner of Chevy Corvette Raffle Announced; Proceeds Benefit Florida Tech’s Scott Center

Florida Tech congratulates aerospace engineering doctoral student Andrew Ollikainen, the winner of the raffle for a red 2014 Chevy Corvette previously owned by F. Alan Smith, a member of the Florida Tech Board of Trustees and former vice president of finance at General Motors.

The raffle was held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Melbourne. Florida Tech Athletic Director Emeritus Bill Jurgens emceed the event, with Mr. Smith drawing the winning ticket as viewers tuned in to the Facebook Live broadcast.

“We are thrilled to have won, especially with the connection to F. Alan Smith,” Andrew said.

Proceeds from the event will benefit both the Scott Center for Autism Treatment, Florida Tech’s not-for-profit treatment and research facility founded in 2009 to improve the quality of life of children with autism spectrum disorders and related disabilities in Central Florida, and Holy Trinity’s Babcock Street Beautification Project.
