Biomedical Engineering Professor Coordinates E-Workshop On Radiation In Biomedicine 

Kunal Mitra recently co-coordinated an e-workshop sponsored by the Ministry of Education and government of India, to create a forum of international scientists, engineers and medical professors from engineering institutes associated with radiation transport applications.

The focus was on sharing research ideas on radiation in biomedical applications for tumor diagnosis and therapy, which serves as guidepost for treatment modalities and clinical trials.

Mitra, a professor of biomedical engineering, was also a speaker at the event. His presentation was titled, “Bio-Heat Transfer Analysis for Laser Based Therapeutic Applications.”

Other topics discussed at the workshop included solar radiation, radiation in planetary systems and optical imaging and optical tomography.
