Tech Sparks Awesome Comeback Despite Falling 81-77 in Overtime to Tars

WINTER PARK, Fla.-The Florida Tech Panthers (3-16, 0-9) fell in heartbreaking overtime 81-77 to the Rollins College Tars (4-5, 8-2) in men’s SSC action at
the Warden Arena. Tech played the best second half of the season coming back from a 22 point deficit at beginning at 11:02 left on the clock to knot the
score 71-71 at the buzzer bringing their second overtime of the season.

Panther senior guards Brad Rich (Oviedo, Fla.) and Ryan Maultsby (Vero Beach, Fla.) along with sophomore

Point guard E.J. Murray (Rockledge, Fla.) combined for 13 three point goals in the second half to bring Tech back into the most exciting game. Murray led
the way with his team high 21 points hitting 7-out-of 12 from the arc. Maultsby followed with 20 points going 8-fo-15 form the field hitting four three
pointers. Rich, who played one of the best games of his career, finished with 19 points hitting his career high 5-for-15 from the arc.

Defensively senior forward Kevin Krieg (Fort Myers, Fla.,) also broke his single game record coming off the bench pulling down the game high in rebounds
with 12 points for the contest.

Tech out rebounded the Tars 48 to 41 but were unable to make the plays in the final two minutes of overtime. Rollins who had only four fouls heading into
the bonus period was able to burn some fouls to run the clock down not allowing the Panthers to set up an effective offense in the final minutes.

The Tars were led by junior guard John Thinnes (Cincinnati, Ohio) who racked up 22 points and eleven rebounds pushing Rollins in overtime to their
victory. The Panthers will be back in action on Wednesday, February 1 hosting Barry at the Clemente Center at a 7:30 p.m. tip-off time.
