Florida Tech Participates in Melbourne Chamber Retreat

Florida Tech had a strong presence at the Melbourne Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Community Leadership Retreat this year. The theme was, “Unlocking Our Potential Through People: Workforce, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship.”

Attending from Florida Tech were: Board chairman Travis Proctor, President Bob King, Executive Vice President and Provost Marco Carvalho, faculty members Jonathan Reed and Rich Griffith and Rob Salonen, director of government affairs and strategic partnerships.

Held in Jupiter, Florida, the two-day event featured networking, guest speakers on the economy, the workforce and work/life balance, and panels focused on attracting, developing and retaining talent, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The keynote address was by Scott Colloredo, deputy director of the Engineering Directorate at Kennedy Space Center.

The Florida Tech contingent was busy: King was a “judge” for an ice breaker activity. Proctor and Carvalho were panelists. Reed moderated two panels, and Griffith was a guest speaker, presenting “Work-Life Balance Post COVID-19.”
