Volleyball Sweeps Florida Tech in Three

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Tritons continued their conference play on a strong note, sweeping through the Florida Tech Panthers in three
games, 30-10, 30-23, and 30-25. Eckerd moves on to an 8-3 record, 2-0 in the Sunshine State Conference.

The middle blockers for both teams were a force at the net in the match tonight. Sophomore middle blocker Leigh Badoyen helped lead the Tritons with 12
kills, a .450 hitting percentage, and five blocks.

The Panthers (4-7, 0-1) were led by senior middle blocker Kelly Currin. She collected 12 kills, totaled a .370 hitting percentage, and had four blocks.

Eckerd’s freshman went a long way in clinching the win. Outside hitter Keisha Carter contributed nicely with eight kills, four blocks, and an outstanding
.533 hitting percentage. Kristy Busse also tallied eight kills and Leah Melton finished with seven total kills, two service aces, and a .583 hitting
percentage.

“Our underclassman really took advantage of the opportunities that were given to them tonight. I thought they were very solid at the net,” Head Coach
Courtney Draper said.
