TJ Wilson Named May MVP

Tom (TJ) Wilson, dining services supervisor, has been named Florida Tech’s Most Valuable Panther for May.

In announcing the award, the Office of Human Resources said:

“TJ joined Florida Tech in 2015 as a cook and moved quickly into management, emerging as a wonderful leader at Panther Dining Hall. He is extremely considerate and is a favorite of staff and co-workers alike.

TJ handles the scheduling of college role students, which is one of the toughest jobs in dining. He handles it with patience, tact and creativity to make sure staffing levels are met, while balancing each student employee’s class schedule and study-time needs.

TJ also lends his tech savvy to managing the Campus Dining App. This includes uploading menu changes, special hours and assisting the Food Court partners.

Recently TJ preformed the Heimlich maneuver on a choking staff member. He noticed the staff member struggling and immediately went into action and saved the day! This makes TJ Wilson our Most Valuable Panther.”

The MVP program recognizes faculty and staff who embody the university’s standards for innovation as demonstrated by their excellence and quality of service. To nominate future MVPs, visit www.fit.edu/hr/forms-and-documents/most-valuable-panther-mvp-nomination-form/#form.
