2006-2007 NCAA II Rankings Announced for Mens and Womens Tennis

MELBOURNE, Fla. (men’s and women’s tennis) For the first time in the four year history of both programs Florida Tech was ranked in the NCAA Southeast
Regional Poll for the Fall Edition. The men’s program reached their highest ever ranking at 8th place and the women’s program grabbed their first ever
regional ranking of 10th place. Four Panthers made it into the Fall Southeast Regional Poll, with two single nods and two doubles spots as well for their
fall performances.

Nationally senior tandem Cliff Giel (Savenata, Aruba) and Keith Kessler (Brooklyn, N.Y.) were recognized with a 15th place ranking while in the southeast
region the doubles team were ranked 4th for the fall rating. Kessler was also the only single player to make the Southeast poll with a 13th ranking.

On the women’s side freshman Natalie Ramos (San Juan, Puerto Rico) was selected 12th in the women’s southeast single poll. Ramos along with second year
member Michaela Horvathova (Bratislava, Slovakia) teamed up for 8th ranking in the fall regional poll.

The women will open up their spring season on February 9th traveling to West Palm to play regional opponents Palm Beach Atlantic at a 2:00 p.m. match time.
The men’s team will travel North to play Ft. Valley State University in Americus, Georgia on February 1st for a 3:00 pm. match time to begin their 2007
season of play.
