Keep Brevard Beautiful Co-sponsors Anniversary Campus Cleanup

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Keep Brevard Beautiful joins Florida Institute of Technology in taking pride in the 130-acre Melbourne campus. The organization is
supplying a variety of materials, such as trash bags and safety vests, to support the 50th Anniversary Campus Cleanup on March 29.

The public is invited to participate in the campus-wide litter cleanup, which will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., beginning with a gathering at Panther Plaza
and followed by a hamburger and hot dog picnic. Prizes will be awarded in a variety of categories, such as organization bringing the most volunteers and
organization or person collecting the most trash.

Florida Tech is located in Melbourne at the corner of Babcock Street and University Boulevard. It was founded in 1958 to train professionals working in the
space program at what is now Kennedy Space Center. Time magazine then called it a “night school for missile men.” Today the university enrolls more than
5,000 students at the Melbourne campus and at 10 extended study sites located in five states.
