Entrepreneurial Summer Camp Registration Now Open

Five-Day Camp Offered by Florida Tech’s Women’s Business Center

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Registration is now open for a five-day summer camp at Florida Institute of Technology for middle and high school students interested in honing their entrepreneurial skills.

Hosted by the Florida Tech Women’s Business Center (WBC) in partnership with Junior Achievement of the Space Coast, Entrepreneurial Summer Camp will focus on leadership, business planning, goal setting, advertising, marketing, graphic planning and more as male and female students age 13 to 18 learn business concepts and management skills. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 16-20 at the WBC in the Florida Tech Commons building at the corner of Babcock Street and University Boulevard in Melbourne.

During the camp, participants will utilize computer simulation to get a taste of what it means to be an entrepreneur. They will discover the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, evaluate their own ideas and meet with community leaders and business owners.

“This is not your typical summer camp,” said Women’s Business Center Director Beth Gitlin. “Students will develop a full business plan, from idea creation to advertising, marketing and budgeting strategies. This type of program engages future entrepreneurs at a young age, preparing them for success.”

The registration deadline for the Entrepreneurial Summer Camp is June 4. Cost for the camp is $250. Scholarships are available. For more information and to register, email wbc@fit.edu or call the WBC at (321) 674-7007.
