Paris Junior Roserie Honored with Google Cloud Academic All-District First Team

MELBOURNE, Fla. – A shining example of a student-athlete, Florida Tech’s Paris Junior Roserie was recognized as 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District first team, announced Thursday afternoon.

The senior was selected by eligible members of the organization, College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). This award recognizes student-athletes who excel both in the classroom and on the field.

The honor is distributed across regionally based districts and four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. To qualify a student-athlete must be either a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average, a minimum one full calendar year at their current institution, and must be of sophomore athletic eligibility.

The Neuro-Psychology major touts one of the highest GPAs of all the NCAA Division II – District 5 winners at 3.83. Despite transferring in Roserie academically hit the ground running as he earned both Florida Tech Athletic Director’s- and Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s honor roll. She will look to go back-to-back with those awards this year.

On the field, Paris provided a spark off the bench for the Panthers as he appeared in 13 of 15 matches and was in the starting XI one time. During the season, he netted one goal on eight shots and set up his teammates four times for a total of eight points.

Roserie will now be placed on the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot for a chance to be named either Academic All-America first-, second- or third team (if necessary). These teams are scheduled to be announced in early December.
