SunTrust Foundation Donates $10,000 to Florida Tech’s Bisk College of Business

Gift Will Sustain Innovation Opportunities for Students

MELBOURNE, FLA. —For the second consecutive year, The SunTrust Foundation has donated $10,000 to Florida Institute of Technology’s Nathan Bisk College of Business.

The gift will be used for the continued support of the university’s Momentum Student Business Incubator and unique and powerful programs such as the Business Model Canvas Competition and the Florida Tech Hackathon, as well as other initiatives dedicated to creating an environment of innovation and entrepreneurship.

“SunTrust is pleased to provide this $10,000 gift to Florida Institute of Technology in support of the Nathan Bisk College of Business Student Business Incubator program,” said Arnold Evans, president of SunTrust Bank’s Central Florida division, speaking on behalf of The SunTrust Foundation. “Business and entrepreneurial education programs such as business incubators provide valuable experience and skills to develop the next generation of leaders, and align with our commitment to improving the financial well-being of individuals and the communities we serve.”

The SunTrust Foundation is dedicated to the company’s purpose of “Lighting the Way to Financial Well-Being” by engaging organizations to advance financial confidence. Grants and activities focus primarily on financial empowerment but also include education, health and human services, civic improvement and cultural growth.

“The SunTrust gift supports our students in being creative, innovative and entrepreneurial during their academic careers at Florida Tech,” said Ann Becker, dean of the Nathan Bisk College of Business. “Community engagement, such as provided by SunTrust, is key to educating our future leaders to manage innovation and change in an evolving global environment.”

The gift comes as the university continues its Create The Future campaign. Launched in January 2013, this is a $100 million initiative with one goal firmly in mind: to secure the financial resources for Florida Institute of Technology to become one of the most respected technological universities in the world.
