Tech Suffers Heart-Breaker In 3-2 Loss To SSC Rival Lynn

BOCA RATON, Fla.-The Florida Tech Panthers (9-22, 4-10) fell in a battle to the end to the Lynn University Fighting Knights (10-11, 5-7). Tech took control
of the match early downing the Knights 31-29, 31-29 for an early two set lead but ultimately gave up control and allowed Lynn to come back in the final
three sets 32-30, 30-23 and 15-6.

Lynn was led by Junior Melissa Roberts who knocked down a career-high 17 kills to lead the Knights to the comeback win. Roberts also added 16 digs for a
double double. Senior setter Jessica Woodby joined Roberts with a double double as well dishing out 63 assists for the game high and chipping in 10 digs.
The final Knight to hit the double double mark was senior Theresa Daniels who hammered the game high 21 kills and added 13 digs.

The Panthers were led by senior Jenny Hart (Clermont, Florida) who notched one of the team’s two double doubles for the match. Hart had the game high and
season high 27 digs which placed her five digs shy of a 1,500 career milestone. Hart also notched 13 kills, two service aces, three blocks and three
assists. Fellow senior Kelly Currin (Waynesville, Ohio) put up a team high 17 kills and a .361 attack percentage and also added three blocks.

Setter’s senior Natasha Bender (Columbus, Nebraska) and sophomore Amanda Boyce (Madison, Wisconsin) also pitched in with Bender putting up the Panther’s 36
assists and a perfect four dumps for the evening for a 1.000 attack percentage, while Boyce had the team’s other double double with 11 kills and 25
assists.

Sophomore outside hitter Jessie Metzger (Oxford, Connecticut) and junior middle hitter Jenny McCoy (Titusville, Florida) each tallied ten kills for the
night with Metzger hitting .348 for the five sets.

Defensively libero Megan Konopnicki (Plano, Texas) totaled 22 digs while sophomore defensive specialist Katie Dobek (Sterling Heights, Michigan) pitched in
12 digs.

Tech finishes off their season this weekend traveling south facing Barry on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in Miami Shores and Nova Southeastern at 7:00 p.m. in Ft.
Lauderdale.
