Two Win Florida Tech Business Ethics Essay Competition

MELBOURNE, FLA.- The Florida Tech School of Management Center for Business Ethics announces the winners of the first Steven T. Freeman Ethics Essay
Contest. First-place winner is Arnold Diehl of Sebastian, who won $1,500 for his essay,”Getting Personal about Enron.” Second-place winner is Manish
Thareja of Melbourne, who won $1,000 for his essay, Ethical Lessons to Be Learned from Events Surrounding the Enron Collapse. The judges were Stephen
Bunker, M.B.A. , former President Holmes Regional Medical Center; Rev. Douglas Bailey, Ph.D., director of Florida Tech’s Catholic Campus Ministry; Rev.
Barry Kronman, M.D.; and Theresa A. Domagalski, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Management. The contest was open to all full-time undergraduate students
enrolled in the School of Management during the spring 2003 semester. Essays were required to be between 2,500 and 3,000 words and to address the ethical
lessons to be learned from the Enron collapse. Our objective is to motivate the students to increase their understanding of ethics and the relation of
ethics to the world of work, said School of Management Dean A.T. Hollingsworth. The winners were recognized at the Third Annual School of Management Center
